TBD

UI/UX mobile app

Project overview & case study:

The Product: TBD is a community-powered platform that enables secure, contact-free local donations through smart locker technology.

We’re reimagining how people give by addressing the safety, trust, and logistical challenges of traditional user-to-user platforms like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace — making it easier to donate items locally without the need for in-person meetups.

At the same time, we’re advancing sustainability by helping communities reduce waste, fast fashion, and overconsumption.

With a built-in social score system, TBD reinforces trust, accountability, and community connection — encouraging visible, reputation-based participation.

Our mission is to create a decentralized, tech-enabled donation network that transforms how communities give, support, and share — safely, sustainably, and at scale.

Project duration  May 2025 - June 2025

Problem Today’s donation and resale platforms are built on outdated systems that require users to coordinate directly, meet in person, and operate on trust without verification. For many, these interactions can feel unsafe, inconvenient, and unreliable — especially when donating to strangers.

Without modern infrastructure for secure, contact-free giving, these platforms unintentionally create barriers to participation. As a result, countless usable items are thrown away, contributing to unnecessary waste and accelerating the cycle of overconsumption.

What’s missing is a simple, trusted, and tech-enabled way for people to give locally — one that meets the expectations of today’s users around safety, privacy, and ease of use, while enabling communities to give more and waste less.

Goal: Design a safer, more accessible, and contact-free way for people to donate and receive secondhand items locally — without the need for in-person interaction.
